Polly Jessup Design Series Featuring Jennifer Garrigues When: Wednesday, November 13, 2019 6:00pm to 8:00pm Where: Palm Beach Preservation Foundation 311 Peruvian Avenue Palm Beach, FL 33480 United States Lecture/Cocktail Reception Members Only Reservations Required The third year of the Polly Jessup Design Series will feature Jennifer Garrigues as the distinguished lecturer on interior design in Palm Beach. Jennifer Garrigues has always had an eye for design. Her days as a high fashion model for Christian Dior, James Galanos, Hanae Mori and Jean Muir of London introduced her to a world of sinuous shapes and sumptuous design. Drawing from this glamour, and with a love of architecture and interiors, Jennifer attended the New York School of Design where she learned the business-side of interior design. The Polly Jessup Design series was created in 2017 in honor of local interior designer, Polly Jessup (1899-1988). Despite a lack of formal training, Mrs. Jessup’s eye for color, style, and form made her a nationally renowned interior designer whose designs were integral to the gracious lifestyle for which Palm Beach is known. Mrs. Jessup remained active in interior design for over sixty years, and created graceful and sophisticated interior décor for Palm Beach society’s biggest names – Dupont, Ford, Whitney, Mellon, Reed, and countless other socialites. The Polly Jessup Design Series is generously underwritten by the Daniel Family. Image CONTACT PHONE 561-832-0731, ext. 107 CONTACT EMAIL lclyman@palmbeachpreservation.org
ALTERNATIVE REALITY: VENICE & PALM BEACH The Photography of Augustus Mayhew Opening Reception & Cocktails Tuesday, November 19, 2019 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Venice and Palm Beach revel in the grandeur of past illusions, informed by the fog of history and the blur of storied legends. Images fashioned from Venetian vanities and Palm Beach artifacts explore the ageless appeal of these iconic islands suspended above and beyond reality. Venice’s magical Carnevale and Palm Beach’s sublime gardens set the stage for a spectacle of wonder and caprice. Augustus Mayhew is a featured photographer and columnist at the New York Social Diary. A longtime historic preservationist, social historian and cultural explorer, he is the author of Lost in Wonderland: Reflections on Palm Beach and Palm Beach: A Greater Grandeur.
