Maggie Cardelús The O.2 NeckPiece Project Opening reception & Cocktails on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm For her O.2 NeckPieces Project (2022), Maggie Cardelús has folded and knotted fish leather around gold-plated, cast bronze rings to mark points, or coordinates, in time and space that "remind us of how we are not alone, but are tied to everything and everyone else in our environment." Maggie Cardelús' NeckPiece Projects, the result of decades of art-making and research, challenges the limits between art, fashion, and design, while materializing her lifelong passion for beautiful and inventive craftsmanship. Cardelús makes each piece herself in her Paris atelier using leather remnants she gathers from the French fashion maisons. She casts her lost-wax metalwork in Rome. You can see how her work fits into her larger art practice at www.maggiecardelus.com.
